A Bayesian statistical model to infer the hidden states of each vehicle in the New York Metropolitan Transportation Authority's bus fleet, the largest in the nation. Next arrival information is provided to passengers via a desktop web interface, SMS, a mobile website, and to third-party application developers via an open, standards-based API.
A collaboration between The New York Metropolitan Transportation Authority, OpenPlans and Cambridge Systematics, with Mobile Commons, Verifone and many others. Scheduled to be launched New York City-wide by the end of 2013.
